Thanksgiving Eve

Well, it's the day before Thanksgiving, so I guess you could call it Thanksgiving Eve. We're not leaving to go out of town until tomorrow morning. We don't have very far to go though. I think we are having deep fried turkey. Yummy! Can't wait. I love it! My office is closing today around 1:00, I get to go home early AND beat traffic! Hurray!!!!! And the office is closed on Friday!

I added a cool graphic at the top of the page that keeps up with how old Pookie is. It came from www.lilypie.com. They have cool graphics that do this for adoption, birth, and birthdays 1-4 and it's free. They are really cool!

A New Day

Well, the birthday party went well. Pookie loved visiting with everyone and we all had a good time. Pookie is beginning to get the idea of opening gifts, but needed a little help. In the end, she was pretty overwhelmed by all the gifts! So, we have spread them out in different rooms of the house and she can play as she moves from room to room. That was the big event this weekend. Not much else going on. Except, now the focus has turned to Thanksgiving and Christmas. I took a quiz telling me what Thanksgiving food I would be. Here is the result...

You Are Mashed Potatoes

ordinary, comforting, and more than a little predictable
You're the glue that holds everyone together.

Not sure how I feel about being mashed potatoes, but oh well. This will be a short week at work, so that should make things easier! I think we are going to see Polar Express this weekend. Can't wait to see it! It was one of my favorite books when I was younger. Wish we could take Pookie, but I don't think she's old enough to sit through that long of a movie yet.

Surviving the 1st Birthday

Well, we survived pookie's first birthday. We went out to eat at Monell's and then to my aunt's condo for gifts. It went well. Pookie enjoyed the food and made it through the meal in the high chair. I was proud, because normally she wants to get down and move around. My aunt got her a black and white stuffed collie and a bunch of 1st birthday stuff. We got her a stuffed brown puppy. She had two cupcakes yesterday (one at daycare and one at dinner) and actually went to bed on time! WOOHOO! Now we just have to survive the birthday party on Saturday. I'm actually really looking forward to it. I think it will be lots of fun. Mostly adults, so it should be pretty calm.

Pookie's First Birthday

Hmmm...What a coincidence that I am starting my blog on Pookie's 1st birthday. I can't believe that a year ago today she was born. Wow! She has grown so much! It's amazing how much they change in their first year. We are going out to eat tonight with my aunt to celebrate the Big ONE!

How Does This Thing Work?

Well, this is the first time I have ever tried this. Stay tuned to see how often I can think of things to blog about! :)
