I Heart My Boots
Seriously, I LOVE my new boots! I have not had a pair of boots in many years, probably close to 10 years. My new boots are very comfy and they are breaking in very nicely. I bought them to wear to the Big and Rich concert, but have been wearing them a lot since then. Mostly I have been wearing them with jeans on the weekend, but today I decided to wear them to work. Now, they are not cowboy boots, they are what I guess you would call fashion boots, but they are so cool! They were WAY on sale and only cost me $9, so I deffinately can't complain! Hopefully they will still be as comfortable this evening after having them on all day!

Navy NCIS
I've said before that my FAVORITE show is LOST. And that is deffinately still true. This season has been awesome! Josh Holloway acted his butt off during the episode The Long Con and Naveen Andrews and Dom Monoghan did the same in their flashback episodes!
But, I thought I would show a little love for my second favorite show. Navy NCIS is probably my second favorite show. It's hard to say because my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th favorite shows are all so close. That consists of Navy NCIS, CSI (the original), and Without a Trace. I was bored yesterday and was playing around with my Yahoo! avatar over in the right hand side panel. I decided since NCIS was on last night I would turn my avatar into my favorite character on NCIS, lab girl Abby. So, don't let it scare you away. LOL I think it looks so much like Abby I think I may leave it up for a little while in honor of my second favorite show!
Ok, enough TV talk. LOL Pookie had an awesome time in Atlanta. She had so much fun playing with her aunt, cousins, and their dogs. She's still a little shy around her uncle, but warmed up to him quite a bit this time. She had so much fun at the Georgia Aquarium and we all needed naps after that day was over! We really enjoyed visiting and hope to go back this summer.

Big and Rich ROCKS!!
Last night Pookiesdad and I went to the Big & Rich/Gretchen Wilson/Muzik Mafia concert at They Ryman Auditorium. It was a charity concert will all of the proceeds going toward repair/conservation work on the Ryman and its artifacts. Now, even though I have lived in Tennessee for all but one year of my life, I have never seen a concert at The Ryman. It is a wonderful place to see a concert! It feels so up close and personal. You feel so much closer to the performers than at a bigger venue. It was an AWESOME concert!!
One of the Muzik Mafia members Shannon Lawson started the show off. I had never heard him before, but he sounded good. Then James Otto took the stage. Pookiesdad went to high school with a guy named James Otto and he's wondering if that was him. He sounded great too!
Then the boys took the stage. They have such an AWESOME stage presence! John was all blinged out and looking his sharpest in his two tone jeans and black jacket and hat. Kenny was his normal goofy and playful self. He was wearing his Love Everybody shirt. They did a lot of stuff from the first album, but did a few things from the new one as well. I love their music and seeing them live was so cool!! They both rocked and did a couple of slower songs. They changed the words to "Big Time" from talking about never making a million bucks to never making a zillion bucks. Thought that was funny! Guess they've made their million. :) LOL! They brought Cowboy Troy out for two songs and even brought Two Foot Fred out for a while. Kenny's guitar had light up words on the back that said Love Everybody. Thought that was cool! At the end, John teased the crowd with his guitar. Just when you thought he was going to smash it on the stage, he handed it off to a fan. All in all, they put on an awesome show and rocked as hard as they could!
After an intermission and set change, Gretchen Wilson and her band came out. Now, I'm not a Gretchen Wilson fan, so I was contemplating leaving at this point. I decided to stick around just in case the boys came back out and boy was I glad. No, the boys didn't come back out :( but it was still worth my while. Gretchen did her set all acoustic. It sounded great and man does she have a voice! I definitely have a new respect for her. She also had a few nice surprises in her show. Tom T. Hall's son (Dean) is her guitar player, so Tom came out on stage and sang a song or two with them. Which was really neat with it being in The Ryman and all. Later on, Gretchen drug out Randy Owens from Alabama to sing a couple of Alabama's hit songs! Now, I am and have always been a HUGE Alabama fan. That was the highlight of the night for me! So, cool to hear him sing live again. I saw Alabama in concert back in 1994 at Opryland and it was really good to hear his voice again! All in all, Gretchen sounded great and even had a few surprises up her sleeve.
I really enjoyed myself!! Unfortunately, they did not have any t-shirts for sale, since this was a benefit concert. So, go figure, I got on line this morning and ordered one for me and one for Pookie. Pookie's says "When I Grow Up I Want To Be Big and Rich". So cute! When she found out where we were going she started crying. No, I see John and Kenny! I see John and Kenny! Maybe next time babe! I loved seeing the guys in concert and definitely hope to take her back some day!

TV Appearances and Birthday Parties
Hope everyone is having a great 2006 so far! Things are good here. It's been busy as usual, but nice at the same time. A lot of Pookie's friends are turning two now, so between birthday parties at school and her step-cousin's birthday party this past Saturday she's done lots of partying! I don't even want to think about how many cupcakes that means she's eaten! :) Back in January, we had a little bit of snow. It wasn't much, but enough to get school out. Pookiesdad made a tiny snowman for her and put it on the front porch. He took a couple of pictures of her looking at it and figured what the heck he'd email them to the local CBS's weather people. Sure enough, the next morning her picture was on TV along with our names. We didn't know that it was going to be used until it came on, so we weren't able to tell anyone ahead of time. Thanks to the wonders of TiVo (How did we live without it?!?!) we were able to tape her first TV appearance. Later this week we are off to Atlanta to visit with Pookiesdad's sister and her family. We can't wait!! We're going to go to the new aquarium while we are there. I know Pookie will love it. Pookie is in the middle of potty training and is doing well. Can't wait to give the extra expense of diapers up, but I know this means we are growing closer to having to give up the baby bed and I am not looking forward to that!! Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!!
